The wide cordura waist band and chest strap assure a good fit, impossible to obtain with most moderately priced vests that only have narrow straps for closure. A vest that doesn't fit well doesn't provide much support and your dog won't feel safe and comfortable in it. I use the vest on dogs that want to puppy swim, that is, try to swim head-up, front feet out of the water on every stroke. The vest gives them confidence and supports their rear end until they get the idea.

My only objection to this vest is the plastic D-ring for leash attachment. Of course it broke on first use.

And for many, many years, I've thought "one of these days, I'm going to BUY bags."

This thought would usually come following a pickup-gone-bad. In other words, one of those mornings where I discovered that the newspaper bag actually had a few holes in it as a result of the newspaper sliding on the concrete driveway when it was delivered.

I finally decided I would check on Amazon to see what kind of dog waste bags were available and settled on these. I figured that 700 bags would last close to a year (two dogs... do the math), but I didn't want to buy a larger supply as I wasn't sure where I was going to store all those rolls of bags.

I shouldn't have worried. In fact, when my 700 bags arrived, I initially thought that they had screwed up the order, because I couldn't believe that there were THAT many bags in THAT small a box. But they really take up almost no room at all. (I HAVE POSTED PRODUCT PHOTOS SHOWING JUST HOW SMALL THESE BAG-ROLLS ARE.)

Despite the small size of the rolls, each individual bag is more than ample in size. In fact, I have two dogs --a 60-pound border collie, and a 100-pound lab, and neither of them can "produce" anything that can't be cleanly picked up. And let's be honest. That IS the most important attribute of a dog-waste-bag. A CLEAN pick up. Because a "dirty" pickup with wreck your whole morning!

One tip though... the bags are VERY static-prone when removed from the roll, and I discovered that I was spending a lot of time if I tried opening each bag while out on a walk with the dogs. So what I do now, is every few weekends, I unroll a couple of rolls, and unfold all the bags in them so that when I go out with the dogs, I'm bringing bags with me that are already to use.

They are water dogs (Vizslas) and good swimmers, but they know when they have their jackets on, they can just swim around and look for fish as long as they want. My only complaint with this product is the inferior stitching. We go through at least three jackets every year for each dog because they rip apart at the seams. I'm going to try another brand. But the concept is fantastic.

Nevertheless, I bought a MEDIUM OUTWARD Hound lifeJacket.
It is a quality product.
I would suggest a even more durable handle on the LifeJacket.
The handle is on the TOP of the LifeJacket so you can better
get your PET out of the Water. But if you have to do this constantly,
then I think the Cloth Handle that is there would wear - out.

Before you deceide on the size you need. MEASURE your dog.
I had to return the LARGE Outward hound LifeJacket.
That size is really made for LABS - Golden Retrivers - Doberman etc.
Just not a PLUMP Beagle.

However, they get the job done, and you really can't beat the price. I would order them again. The dispenser is nothing to brag about, but I was ordering these to fill a dispenser I had so I just chucked the free one.

Bowen for Kyjen Pet Saver Large Life Vest Jacket for Dogs Rating: I bought this for my dog (a 65 lbs. lab) for a vacation in which we swam around in and canoed a class 2-3 river and spent the day on a pontoon boat on a lake. The life jacket fit well and was very streamlined to the dogs body. It was very secure with both velco and buckle closures. While on the canoe trip during breaks the dog ran around in the woods and the jacket didn't get any damage. While on the lake we could lift the dog into and out of the boat using the handle. It kept her afloat and she seemed comfortable with it supporting all her weight. The handle also helped to grab her before she got swept down a rapid while swimming in a river. I would strongly recommend this life jacket for anyone with a dog around water - it's inexpensive, sturdy and effective, yet pretty small.

This is not biodegradation.

These do not meet the ASTM 6400-99 specification for biodegradability. They do not meet the California requirement for use of the term biodegradable.

Buyer beware.
